Ingredients

Salmon and glaze
  • 4 salmon fillets 6 oz each
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 0.25 sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 green onions for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 air fryer

Method

Make the honey garlic sauce
  1. Mix honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and sesame oil in a bowl until smooth and glossy.
  2. Set the bowl aside while you season the salmon.
Air fry the salmon
  1. Season salmon fillets with salt and black pepper, then brush generously with the honey garlic sauce.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  3. Place salmon in the basket skin-side down and air fry for 8–10 minutes, until cooked through and the glaze is caramelized, with golden, lightly crisped edges—no need to flip.
  4. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve immediately.

Notes

For the best caramelization, coat the salmon generously with the glaze and keep fillets spaced apart in the basket. Refrigerate leftovers in a sealed container for up to 3 days; reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes until hot. Freezing is not recommended for the best texture. For a gluten-free swap, use gluten-free soy sauce without changing the method.
