Ingredients

salmon
  • 1.5 lb salmon Skin removed; cut into 1-inch cubes.
glaze and seasonings
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
garnish
  • 1 sesame seeds For garnish; use as desired.
  • 1 green onions For garnish; thinly sliced, use as desired.

Equipment

  • 1 air fryer

Method

Coat the salmon
  1. Pat the salmon cubes dry with paper towels, then toss them with soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper until every piece is evenly coated and glossy.
Air-fry
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F so it’s hot before you cook.
Cook in a single layer
  1. Arrange the salmon cubes in a single layer in the basket without overcrowding, and cook in batches if needed so they brown instead of steaming.
Crisp and cook through
  1. Air fry for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway, until the edges are golden and the salmon is cooked through.
Finish and serve
  1. Transfer to a bowl and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve over rice or in lettuce cups while hot.

Notes

For extra crisp edges, pat the salmon as dry as you can and avoid overcrowding the basket. Refrigerate leftovers up to 3 days; reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 2–3 minutes to re-crisp. Freezing: yes, but the texture softens slightly after thawing. Dairy-free by default; for a gluten-free swap, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
